Double Podium Delight for Henry

Rising star Henry Joslyn moved on to four podiums finishes in the Wera Tools British F4 Championship with a brace of top three results as the series headed for Thruxton for the fourth meeting of the campaign.

Joslyn headed to the fastest circuit in the UK on the back of his best weekend to date in the series at Snetterton two weeks earlier, where two podium finishes had allowed him to climb up the championship standings.

Running inside the top ten during Friday testing at the wheel of his Fortec Motorsport-run car, Henry was in fine form when qualifying came around in tricky weather conditions - storming to pole position with a lap nearly two-tenths of a second quicker than his nearest rival.

Jumped at the start of race one, Henry was running in third spot when the action was halted following a multi-car accident at the final corner. Holding position at the restart, Henry slipped back to fourth just before the safety car was called out due to another incident, and it would remain out front until the finish.

Whilst that prevented Henry from trying to retake his position on the podium, he would be promoted up into third spot post-race when Fionn McLaughlin was handed a time penalty for the move that had seen him overtake Henry prior to the caution period.

The reverse grid second race took place later on Saturday after being delayed due to rain, with Henry starting down in twelfth place and having to settle for 14th in tricky conditions on a still wet circuit.

On pole once again for the final race of the weekend, Henry again lost ground at the start and slipped back down to fourth, but fought back up into third just before the safety car was called out to recover a car from the chicane.

Retaining position on the restart, Henry ran in third place through to the chequered flag to repeat his race one result and has now moved up into fifth place in the championship standings.

“We showed really promising pace again this weekend, and to score pole position and take two podiums at a circuit like Thruxton is a job well done,” he said.

“The only problem was with my starts but I know that if I work on those and get them right, it won’t be long until we’re up there on the top step of the podium and celebrating a victory.”
