Henry wraps up top ten championship finish at Brands Hatch

Henry Joslyn brought the curtain down on his maiden season in the Wera Tools F4 British Championship certified by FIA with a battling top ten finish at Brands Hatch.

The talented youngster went into the weekend looking to cement his place inside the top ten of the overall standings having shown impressive pace at the wheel of his Fortec Motorsport-run car over the course of the campaign.

After being forced to contend with wet weather conditions during Friday testing around the full Brands Hatch GP layout, qualifying was held in the dry on Saturday with Henry ultimately qualifying in 14th place.

Although lower than he had expected, things could have been worse after an issue with the rear wing early in the session, however a red flag shortly after provided the Fortec squad with the opportunity to repair the car and get him out on track to set a time.

A tough opening lap when race one got underway saw Henry drop to the lower reaches of the top 20 but he battled hard to fight his way back up to 15th place by the finish, setting a fastest lap comparable with the leading runners.

Lining up in 13th place for the start of race two, Joslyn was able to get away better when the lights went out and was soon making up ground as he raced his way into the top ten within a handful of laps.

Once again matching the pace of the race leaders, Henry crossed the line in tenth place before being promoted up into ninth when rival Chase Fernandez was excluded post-race.

From 14th on the grid for the season finale, the BRDC Rising Star was able to make up a spot at the start but would spend the remainder of the 25 minute encounter staring at the rear of Cole Hewetson in a train of eight cars.

Taking the flag in 13th spot, Henry ends the season ninth in the championship standings with his focus now turning towards 2026, with his future plans to be revealed in due course.

“Unfortunately it was a difficult weekend to end the season after showing strong pace in testing on Wednesday,” he said. “Qualifying didn’t go our way due to the incident with the rear wing and that meant I had to come through the field in the races, which is really difficult around Brands Hatch GP when you’re in dirty air.”

“The lap times I was able to set despite being in traffic showed that we had the pace to run at the front and it was just down to circumstances that we weren’t in the position that I expected to be.”

“Overall this has been an interesting season for me with plenty of ups and downs. It’s frustrating that we couldn’t finish the year like we started with five poles and seven podiums early on, and we need to sit down and work out the reasons why that was the case.”

“I have to give a massive thank you to everyone at Fortec Motorsport for the opportunity they have given me this season, and hopefully we’ll be able to get out in something again next year.”
